[G] If you are comfortable, would you reflect on Yeshua’s ministry?
[M] Oh yes, there are so many lovely memories. My dear son was destined to bring the new words of law and hope and peace to our people. All of his young life was dedicated to this goal. What an example for our family and neighbors.
Yeshua was more than a good and obedient son to me. So often his voice of hope contained a level of knowledge and understanding far beyond his years. As curious as this might have been, I came to expect Yeshua as qualified to speak to these subjects as well as any of the learned ones at synagogue or Temple. Gabe, in everything my son did, he was always humble and aware of the needs of his family. At the very same time, he was dedicated to spreading the good news of his father, the Master of the Universe.
I told to you of the many trips to Yerushalayim. Each time, Yeshua would visit and sit with the rabbis and elders in Temple court. I do know that he learned so much. I am sure too, that he asked countless questions.
My dear Yosef would teach him at every chance and there was opportunity at synagogue in our village for Yeshua to expand understanding of our ancient laws and dedication to the Adonai.
I am sure that some of our elders at synagogue who had advised Yeshua might have felt uncomfortable as he expressed new ideas and essential change of direction in our religious practices and prayer. I must assure you that his design would never alter the strengths of the faith of our fathers.
It was in his thirtieth year of age that a few in our village questioned the very right of Yeshua to express his opinions. How little did they really understand his values. I learned that many wondered about my son. They said, “Here is a man of our village that we have known for years, a carpenter and stone mason that believes himself to be a rabbi!” All righteous people knew better of the goodness and truth of Yeshua.
Yeshua realized that his time had come to teach any willing to listen of the wonderful opportunity they possessed to find new happiness in this present time with HA-SHEM. This awakening of the spirit and hope could be realized in spite of many dreadful happenings to our people by the dominance of the Invaders, and even under the often cruel rule of Jews like the Herods and his cohorts.
Shortly thereafter, with my blessing, Yeshua took his leave.
We know now that he touched so many hearts in all of Judaea, Galilee, the lands called Beyond the Jordan and even in Samaria.
I am not well versed in the particulars of his ministry to the Jews and others. But there is still another recollection of the visit of Yeshua to that area called Beyond the Jordan and meeting with his dear cousin, John.
May we walk about, drink of some water and then continue our talk?
